Drawing a Blank

Quite bored since at the moment. Nothing sweet tech related to say besides my MP3 player is doing fine with minor problems now and then. Guitar Hero 2 has come out but i don't get it till Christmas, oh well. Saw a little band name +44(Plus 44 for those not in the know) in Philly. It was a small club show so it was fuckin B.A and Travis played drums with one arm which made me shit myself. Then 2 days later there CD came out. I've listened to that beauty more than enough to say it is damn good. Not one song on there is bad, even the interlude. Okay wading through the shit-storm.

Please don't, don't make me sleep alone

If I could, I'd only want to make you smile

Ipod on Death Row

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that "Brad's iPod" (as my computer likes to call it), has been given the death penelty. Don't worry, it's not right away, just 6-10 business days. I ordered a new mp3 player. The 8gb, FM tuner/recorder, color screen, photo capable, BLACK, Creative Microphoto with leather case. I know it's a downgrade in memory space but I don't think I'm gonna have a sudden surge of music addition to my computer so 8gb will do for a while; plus since it's not an iTard, there isn't any real software for it. Did I mention it's BLACK? So my hope in all of this is to get my new Creative, then take a baseball bat to the iTard ala Office Space. The only question is, do I take the hard drive out and sell both the old 20g and newer 30gb on Ebay? Could be a good idea.... and evil; mwhahahaha........
*Tickets will be sold to the exicution, real cheap; maybe even like 25 cents a whack.

iPod update

In my never ending battle with my iPod, I have the upper-hand.....for now. Every new thing I do to fix it seems to work only a few times and last for a week or so. Funny/annoying thing example of this; the iPod freezes, I reset it, it gives me the sad face, I give it a few smacks on the back, it works but deletes all my music on the hard drive. My only response to that was, "touche iPod, touche". At this point, as long as it works, it's still does the job. Poker at Chris' tonight was small. I got 3rd of 5 but still maintain my point lead!!! That's at least 4 league events in a row. Chris and I talked about winning the points title at the end; he thinks that since the points system is single-step( i.e 1st gets the number of points equal to the number of players), that you can lose or get low points a few times and still get the points title if you win once or twice. I, though, think that even with this simple points that you still have get the title the way Chris described or play consistently each week; that stills says something about your ability as a poker player. Well until next time creatures of the night.

iPod= pwned

Well folks, I did it. I fixed that sum bitch on Tuesday after work. The scarest part was getting the first part of the cover off then it was smooth fixin after that. To be honest it took me longer to get my iPod formatted then it did to replace the hard drive. Knowing that changing the hard drive isn't hard at all, I just might be tempted to put a much larger space in there, to test chris' hypothesis about having a 100gb iPod. If it would work(which I don't know why it couldn't, all you need is the right size drive), I would do it just to have it; although right now I have 1.61gb of music on iTunes some might say that would be a waste, I would just call it ownage of Apple. Fourth place finish in the poker league on Tuesday night as well, not too bad and I kept my points lead which I'm pretty proud of. So far this summer, I haven't even dropped below 4th and will try my best to keep it that way. Really nothin else is goin on besides that I got my Econ04 grade from spring changed finally cuz of some big wild goose chase but whatever it's changed and it's done; one less thing to think about at night. Tomorrow is Friday and for most people that means, "Fuckin alright! It's the weekend!" and for me it's , "Fuckin alright! Work at CRPR from 7-3, Hoss's 6-11, Saturday off, Hoss's Sunday 1130-8!". Six day work weeks are burnin me out; I come home and don't want to do a damn thing at all, just rest and watch tv. Oh well, life goes on boo hoo, too bad so sad, cry me a river.

IT HAS BEGUN

Okay first post, BFD lets get to the good shit....

I guess I'll start at the beginning for those who haven't had the privilege of hearing this story. My iPod broke a few weeks ago while I was trying to update it. I take it into Best Buy to get it sent away to be fixed. They call me back in and tell me that they won't send it out because there are "small dents" on the back case. After I proceed to laugh at how small these dents are and convince them I have never dropped my iPod ever (although I still do believe that when my iPod went to Best Buy once before I saw one of them drop it on the floor), they agreed to send it out. A week or so goes by and I get another phone call; Best Buy won't fix it and they want $277 to fix it. My response to the guy is "I could buy a new iPod for that much", to which he replied, "so you want to decline the charges?" I spent the next few days trying to find two things, a new hard drive and a detailed explanation of how to replace the hard drive in an iPod. Sunday, I bought a 30gb hard drive for $100 from ewiz.com(for those doing the math, that's $177 less and an added 10gb of memory). Replacing the hard drive is as simple as opening the case(which is the hardest part). The hard drive is coming UPS and should arrive on Monday from California. With a little bit of skill and luck, my iPod should be up and running by Wednesday or Thursday next week. Unless I have a strange thought like a few nights ago, my next post will be a retelling of the surgery(with photos!).
